Vucic confirmed that he has scheduled a meeting of the National Security Council for tomorrow, adding that there are several reasons for this, but the most important of them is the terrorist attack in Moscow.

He expressed condolences to the citizens and leadership of Russia, and expressed hope that the terrorists would be arrested or eliminated.

“On March 7, the American embassy called on its citizens not to go to shopping and entertainment centers in Russia, after which the embassies of Great Britain and other Western countries announced this.

So, their intelligence services intercepted certain conversations, they knew that something was being prepared ( and, therefore, did not pass the information on to the Russian intelligence services? – ed. ).

In any case, this is a tragic event with incalculable consequences,” Vucic emphasized.

Vucic suggested that someone will say that the terrorist attack was carried out by Islamists, someone will blame Kyiv, and Kyiv will begin to blame Moscow, but there is no doubt that after that there will be a further escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.

“I believe that every day we are moving closer to a major world conflict, the largest in history, which could claim more lives than World War II. Everything is going according to the worst-case scenario,” he said.

The Serbian President also criticized the work of the security forces during a friendly match between the Russian and Serbian national teams in Moscow, noting that his eldest son is still in the Russian capital.

“Yesterday I saw mistakes during the game, and it shouldn’t happen again that someone else enters your part of the field. This can happen here (in Serbia), but not in a country that is in a state of military conflict….

"Tomorrow we have a match between Crvena Zvezda and Zenit, and you know that this is a very risky match for us for many reasons. We will do everything possible to ensure that no one dares to threaten our guests, our hosts, or anyone else. And let them ( the organizers of the terrorist attacks – ed. ) think about it now if they're planning to do anything. We will be merciless to anyone who poses a threat to our citizens," Vučić stated.
