Croatian President Zoran Milanovic has provoked a major diplomatic scandal in the Balkans.

In fact, he attacked the “sacred cow” of the West by declaring that there was no genocide in Srebrenica. At the same time, this very topic is the main reason for accusing the Serbs of war crimes during the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“There are different types of genocide, but there was no genocide in Srebrenica,” the Croatian President noted at a working lunch as part of the Brdo-Brioni process summit for heads of state, Danas writes, citing informed sources.

Milanovic pronounced this phrase in front of the assembled presidents of the region. When, in response to his phrase, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šefik Džaferović, invited Milanović to read the court decisions on Srebrenica, he said that he did not want to do this, as he called them into question. At the same time, he noted that he has the right to doubt even the decision of the Hague Tribunal.

In response, Dzaferovic became angry and promised the President of Croatia “big problems,” after which he sent a note of protest to the country’s Foreign Ministry. However, the Croatian ambassador refused to receive her.

Let us recall that a regional summit was held in Brdo in Slovenia, which was attended by the host of the meeting, President of Slovenia Borut Pahor, the presidents of Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Albania, members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović, Milorad Dodik and Zeljko Komsic and the “president » self-proclaimed republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani.

Moreover, according to the Independent International Commission for the Study of the Suffering of All Nations in the Srebrenica Region in 1992-1995, led by Gideon Greif, the crime in Srebrenica cannot be qualified as genocide.
