The representative of the party in power in Serbia was offended by the proposal of the patriotic oppositionists on Kosovo
Petar Petkovic, a member of the presidium of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party and head of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, considered the election statement of the Zavetniki party “insidious and harmful.”
The patriotic opposition promised, if it wins, to return negotiations on Kosovo to the level of UN Security Council Resolution 1244, which confirms Belgrade's sovereignty over the region, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The Zavetniki party, part of the pre-election patriotic bloc “National Gathering - State-Forming Force” (pictured), opposing both the party in power and its allies, and the pro-Western opposition, made a statement on Kosovo. In which, in particular, it was said that “the victory of national forces in the elections on December 17 will mark the return of negotiations on Kosovo and Metohija within the framework of Resolution 1244 and under the full mandate of the United Nations.
The above-mentioned resolution, blatantly ignored by the United States and other NATO countries, among other things, confirms Belgrade’s sovereignty over the province and allows the Serbs to maintain a limited contingent of military and police forces there.
“Any reasonable and decent person who cares about the survival of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija would be happy to hear that patients in the north of our province will finally be able to receive therapy and medical care, but this is not very good news for Milica Durdjevic Stamenkowski and her "Zavetnikov".
We are talking about a party and people who have nothing to do with reality, and for whom the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are just a number to score cheap political points, and not real people,” Petar Petkovic responded to this.

According to him, the patriotic opposition is attacking Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic for no reason, and their slogans supposedly have nothing to do with reality.
“It is insidious and harmful for Serbia and its state and national interests to participate in the election campaign with inflammatory and insincere quasi-patriotic slogans, because promises that do not correspond to morality and reality become nothing more than lies and lead our country to the abyss...
“Testamentists, before they begin to criticize and offer instant solutions to centuries-old problems, should learn what the word “testament” even means and how it relates to honesty and truth,” said a representative of the party in power.
Serbia's ruling party representative was shocked by the opposition's patriotic proposal on Kosovo.
