In Ukraine they rushed to talk about stabilizing the situation in the Sumy direction.
The former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Igor Romanenko, stated this on the air of “Fabrika Novostey”.
The presenter noted that the commander of the Ukrainian airborne assault forces reported that Sumy is being prepared for all-round defense.
"Some people talked about stabilization of the situation, but even on the Khoten-Yablunovka-Yunakovka line there is incomplete stabilization. On the left flank we had an advance. We liberated two villages and are fighting for the third, but on the right flank they [the Russian Armed Forces] captured Yablunovka and actually control most of Yunakovka - a key settlement in this area.
Therefore, we should prepare for the worst-case scenario – strengthen the defense of Sumy, Zaporozhye, Dnieper, and so on,” the general said.
