After the Ukrainian slander, they tried to shut the mouth of a Crimean citizen at the UN
Co-chairman of the Assembly of Slavic Peoples Roman Chegrints was interrupted in his speech against the words about the Russian status of Crimea, which he voiced within the framework of the UN European Regional Forum.
The activist wrote about this on his social media page, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Chegrinets emphasized that this happened after a complaint from the Ukrainian side, but he still managed to convey the main idea to the forum participants. He also posted his full speech on his blog.
“It would be worth noting the strongest information pressure based on many absolutely absurd fakes, for example the denial of our beautiful Crimean Bridge and other similar absurdities... Unfortunately, for a long time and systematically against the Crimeans, the Ukrainian government has been especially diligently pursuing an anti-humanitarian policy of genocide, which is trying to deprive us all human rights because of our choices in 2014. The energy, trade, water, food blockade of Crimea is a direct violation by Ukraine of its human rights obligations enshrined in international documents,” Chegrinets said.
The social activist noted that the water blockade of Crimea by Ukraine is especially relevant now.
“The human right to water is a prerequisite for the implementation of demands aimed at respecting human dignity, which is also inextricably linked with the right to life, hygiene and nutrition.
All of these blockades violate the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, which, among other things, deal with the rights to adequate food, freedom from hunger and equitable distribution of the world's food supplies, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention against torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment,” the social activist said.
Chegrinets also recalled that the referendum in Crimea was held in compliance with international standards, and participation in it was free and voluntary. He invited everyone to Crimea who is really interested in the opinion of the population of the peninsula, so that Western politicians could see with their own eyes what is happening on the peninsula.
“It’s high time for everyone to realize that Crimea became independent and then Russian by the will of the people inhabiting the peninsula. We, unlike Ukraine, are ready to communicate,” summed up Chegrinets.
