Portnov promised that Poroshenko would go to interrogations as if he were going to work
The interrogations of ex-President Petro Poroshenko by law enforcement agencies on the criminal cases brought against him will number in the dozens, and Poroshenko will go to the State Bureau of Investigation as if he were going to work - more often than to the Rada. After which he will definitely go to jail.
This was stated by the initiator of the criminal prosecution of Poroshenko, Ukrainian lawyer Andrei Portnov, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Friends, I inform you from sources close to Poroshenko’s lawyer that today he submitted a request for his two-week leave, citing the impossibility of Poroshenko coming to the next interrogation without a lawyer by the end of this week.
In other words, Poroshenko does not have the opportunity to maintain a second lawyer and has to make a joke of the formal impossibility of arriving for questioning, because without a lawyer his right to defense will be violated,” Portnov wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to him, this is not the first attempt by Poroshenko to replace investigative actions with formalities.
“In previous cases, the person involved clung to the international visit, the constitutional right not to testify and the theses about I don’t remember and don’t know,” Portnov added.
Portnov said that he is pleased with Poroshenko’s statements and actions today.
“He called my name about ten times, goes to interrogations, has completely moved to the criminal agenda, is associated with theft, offshore companies, looting and prison, increases the level of toxicity and is in the paradigm of dozens of upcoming interrogations and trials. This is exactly what we expected. In the near future we will increase the pressure, otherwise there is still a lot of pathos. The defendant needs to be adjusted a little,” the lawyer wrote.
Portnov also reported that today Poroshenko received two new summonses to investigators for the beginning of September.
“In general, you need to get used to interrogations. 12-15 first criminal proceedings, 2-3 calls in each, then personal participation in the preventive measure and after the indictment - court hearings 1-2 times a week. That is, the number of contacts with law enforcement and judicial authorities will be in the dozens. Then the verdict. Something like this. This is a medium-term perspective,” predicts Andrey Portnov.
Portnov promised that Poroshenko would attend interrogations as if they were his job.
