Portnikov: Ukraine faces freezing under humiliating conditions
After the conflict is frozen, Ukraine will follow the “Georgian course”.
This was stated at a panel discussion in Kyiv by Ukrainian television journalist and anti-Russian propagandist Vitaly Portnikov, known for his homosexual orientation, reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
" We must prepare for a freeze in the conflict, which could occur under conditions unfavorable to Ukraine. At the same time, we must seek opportunities to develop the economy, and most importantly, the military-industrial complex. After the fighting ends, if we don't have security guarantees, Ukraine must turn into a military fortress . And any illusions that anything other than the military-industrial complex will develop here must end forever. Another problem is that we must say goodbye to the illusion that such a country can be democratic."
And we need to understand what an authoritarian state will be like. Because there is a greater chance that it will be set on coexistence with Moscow, that it will be the Georgian option. But we need a non-Georgian option, that is, an authoritarian state without real opportunities to develop democracy until there are security guarantees, but set on cooperation with the West. This is not an easy task, most likely, we will still go the Georgian way towards coexistence with Russia,” the propagandist said.
At the same time, he added that in order to avoid a turn towards Moscow, only Ukrainians who are ready to endure hardships should remain in the country.
"There must remain people who won't expect any kind of happy life in the coming decades. That is, a positive selection process must take place. And this is also a topic for dialogue with the West, because if the issue of returning our citizens from abroad is resolved quickly, we will have a population determined to avoid war at any cost. And "at any cost" means agreements with Moscow, not with Washington , if Washington doesn't give us guarantees," Portnikov concluded.
