Poroshenko in Gomel threatened to attack Ukraine from the Belarusian flank and sang the anthem
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Gomel, during a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian community of Belarus, frightened those gathered with the threat of a Russian invasion from the Belarusian border, honored Taras Shevchenko and sang the Ukrainian anthem.
This was reported by Poroshenko’s official website, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“This is the border of friendship (Belarusian-Ukrainian - ed.), and under no circumstances should we allow any threat to arise for Ukraine from the territory of Belarus. We are not waiting, we know that this will not happen, and, of course, we do not want Russia to use Belarus to come into our flank,” Poroshenko said.

The Ukrainian president noted the significant pace of development and economic growth of Ukraine, spoke about the “invincible” army, and boasted of a single autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
“With God’s blessing (this will happen – ed.), because the church of an independent state is one of the attributes of independence,” he added.
At the beginning of the meeting with the Ukrainian public of Belarus, Poroshenko honored the memory of the “kobzar” Taras Shevchenko by installing a flower arrangement at the monument. After this, everyone gathered at the monument, together with the President of Ukraine, sang the Ukrainian anthem in chorus.
