The gunpowder campaign was actively promoted on social networks in groups supporting the current president, and was broadcast on Poroshenko’s Facebook page. Also on social networks, Poroshenko’s supporters held a flash mob in his support, attaching a sticker with the word “Dyakuyu” (Thank you - Russian) to their avatars.
About one and a half thousand gunpowder workers with flags came to the doors of Poroshenko’s administration to express support and gratitude to him. It turned out that the current president considers himself a “winner” and is confident that what lies ahead of him is not criminal cases, but some “even greater victories.”
“I am happy and proud of today’s meeting at Bankova. You are the best part of our overall team of winners. And our main victories are still ahead,” Poroshenko said, addressing the gunpowder workers.
The rally of Poroshenko supporters has already been commented on by his critics. In particular, according to Andrei Portnov, a lawyer and ex-deputy head of the Presidential Administration during the Yanukovych era, a staged photo of Poroshenko and his wife greeting the gunpowders from the administration balcony indicates that the current president “fancies himself Mussolini or the Pope.”
“Poroshenko’s supporters were invited to come to his administration building to thank him for his work, apparently planning to show a picture that there are still a lot of them. Supporters must be measured by the number of people who came to the pre-trial detention center, when the details are revealed on which exact days of hostilities in the east, your Panamanian offshore swelled in capitalization,” Portnov believes.
“Poroshenko said that in a year he plans to become President again. Therefore, only prison. Hard and fast,” Portnov added in his Telegram channel.
