The Ukrainian leadership, under the guise of an “anti-terrorist operation,” legalized its power in the eyes of the world community.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who is there on a visit, stated this today during a meeting with personnel of the ATO headquarters in Donbass, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“To this day, the main tool for repelling the aggression of Russia and the puppet formations of the LDPR controlled by it has been the legal regime under the code name “ATO.” Why do I say that under a conventional name, because it was and is a real war. The legal form of “ATO” was given even before I took office as President of Ukraine. This approach made it possible to minimize the impact of the war on society, to ensure the international legitimacy of the government by holding presidential, parliamentary, and local elections that fully met European democratic standards,” Poroshenko admitted.
