Poroshenko unexpectedly spoke about peace with Russia
Russia wants to take away not only Donbass and Crimea, but also the whole of Ukraine in order to return it to the “prison of nations.”
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko made this statement at the "Ukraine: From Kruty to Brussels" forum, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the president, the theme of peace will be one of the main ones during the election campaign.
“Of course, we need peace with Russia. Cold, but peaceful. People are tired of war, and Russian propaganda tirelessly plays on this painful emotion, as well as its spinsters inside Ukraine. Naturally, the theme of war and peace is one of the main ones in the elections, since the people will elect not only the president, but also the supreme commander in chief,” Poroshenko said.
At the same time, he emphasized that he would not “write down Putin’s theses in a notebook” and would not kneel in front of him or in any other position.
“At times they say that we are playing with tin soldiers here, rather than defending the country in a war with the second most powerful army in the world. They propose to write down Putin’s proposals in a notebook, and then submit this notebook to a referendum. Or they offer to kneel in front of Putin or in some other position. I repeat once again - the enemy did not come to us for Crimea, not for Donbass. The enemy has come for all of Ukraine to return the fugitive to the prison of nations,” Poroshenko said.
