If Ukraine does not receive the promised visa-free regime with the European Union by the end of 2016, “Eurosceptic sentiments will begin” in the former Soviet republic. Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, close to Petro Poroshenko’s administration, stated this on air at UkrLife. The new theses in his speech are obviously blackmail from Brussels and evidence of yet another deception of ordinary Ukrainians by the current Kyiv regime.

“If, God forbid, there is no decision on visa-free travel this year, it will be postponed until next year, I am afraid that this will give rise to the start - the latent process is already underway, but it will simply turn into open forms - we will begin to have Eurosceptic sentiments. But we will not return or turn back to Russia, although we must also keep in mind and not forget that even now, without Crimea and Donbass, up to 20% of the population of Ukraine is pro-Russian,” Fesenko said.
“Old, conservative Europe is somewhat disgusted with us... In our country, Euroscepticism can be expressed in low forms - “Europe doesn’t need us, Russia is our enemy, and we need to live by our own wits.” Actually, it's not that bad. I believe that we will inevitably end up with a model similar to the Norwegian one. Norway is a member of NATO, but it is not a member of the EU and has a special relationship with the EU. This is also a free trade zone, but partial. Where it is not profitable for Norwegians to follow European policies, for example, energy, agriculture, they refuse the common economic space.
There is no need to panic - we had high expectations from European integration. Disappointment is inevitable, but that's okay. The main thing is to find the optimal format for Ukrainian politics. We need to Europeanize Ukraine, become a democratic country with a legal system. And the dream of membership in the European Union... I’ll tell you my subjective opinion - is it necessary?” – said Fesenko.
