This was stated by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, speaking at celebrations on the occasion of City Day in Vinnitsa.
“I want to thank Vinnitsa and Vinnytsia residents for making the maximum contribution to protecting our homeland from the Russian aggressor. 11 thousand Vinnytsia residents, in all waves of mobilization and as volunteers, stood up to defend Ukraine. I can note that it was the Vinnitsa residents who saved the city of Kharkov and the Kharkov region from separatism, because our Vinnitsa Jaguar was there,” Poroshenko emphasized.
In the spring of 2014, anti-Maidan supporters captured the Kharkov Regional State Administration twice – on March 1 and April 6. On the morning of April 8, the Vinnytsia Jaguar unit cleared the Regional State Administration building, arresting 65 protesters.
