Someone advises Poroshenko to do stupid things in the election campaign
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko made a number of rash steps in preparation for the election campaign.
Director of the Agency for Social Communications Sergei Belashko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Poroshenko’s efforts to find a sparring partner are very symptomatic. For a long time, Yuri Boyko was called such a sparring partner. We saw some friendly actions towards Boyko, and then it turned out that Boyko had a steady increase in his ratings. Boyko is ahead of Poroshenko and if everything continues as it continues, then Boyko will enter the second round with the friendly neutrality of Bankova, but Poroshenko will not enter the second round. And in the second round there will be Tymoshenko and Boyko, and it is unclear to whom Poroshenko will give this gift,” Belashko noted.
After this development of events, the expert points out, attempts began to raise the rating of Vadim Novinsky, who could pull votes away from Boyko.
“It’s absurd that the current president is starting to compete not with Tymoshenko, but with Boyko, who ranks third. We see how the demonization of Novinsky’s image occurs. Poroshenko is fighting with Novinsky, who is a second- or third-tier politician, and at the same time Novinsky defeats him by a large margin. Well, this is an obvious setup. Is someone advising Poroshenko about all this nonsense?” the political scientist asked.
He also says that the leader of the Ukrainian Choice movement, Viktor Medvedchuk, is currently being promoted.
“There is information that a number of well-known gunpowder robots have already been contracted to promote Viktor Medvedchuk. I don’t believe that this can happen without Bankova’s knowledge, that a person who takes money for praising the current president can take money for praising someone else. The disposition is such that Poroshenko is fighting with Boyko for third place and is intensely looking for spoilers that would help him pull votes away from Boyko,” Belashko concluded.
