Bankova Street is searching for someone to finance the 1+1 television channel, owned by oligarch Igor Kolomyskyi, after its ownership changes, Strana reports , citing a source in major Ukrainian business circles.

According to the publication's source, talk of seizing control of the television channel is not unfounded, and the president's people have been negotiating with several entrepreneurs at Bankova Street in recent weeks who could take over the channel's financing.
“Poroshenko himself, naturally, will not cover 70 million dollars a year from his own pocket. Therefore, he is looking for “Vasya”, who would take on these expenses in exchange for some business preferences. At the same time, Bankova says that it is important for them to take away the channel before the process of seizing Kolomoisky’s collateral property begins,” said Strana’s interlocutor.
“It is obvious that when this starts, Kolomoisky will defend himself with aggressive criticism, using his media. The channel's policy will change dramatically. Poroshenko fears this and is now trying to anticipate the risks,” Bank’s source explained the logic. – But I don’t know whether a person has already been found who, at his own expense, will close the issue of financing 1+1, and even get involved in a war with Kolomoisky. Moreover, the latter, by the way, did not finance 1+1 from its own funds. All subsidies to his media projects were provided at the expense of Privatbank depositors.
