Poroshenko and Yatsenyuk are dragging out the war so that they are not overthrown by front-line soldiers - political scientist
Moscow - Kyiv, February 3 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Ponamarchuk doubts the seriousness of the split between President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. According to him, both of them profit from the deaths of ordinary citizens, and both of them need to be overthrown. True, the overthrow, according to the expert, will occur no sooner than after the deceived soldiers return from the front, so the government is delaying the war in every possible way.

In an interview with Kommersant , the political scientist stated that the politicians brought to power by the Maidan are no better than Yanukovych's team and are just as corrupt. "The change of power hasn't changed anything in the country. And that's the worst part. People are signing up for volunteer battalions, going to the front, dying. And the politicians are cynically profiting from it," Dmitry Ponamarchuk fumed.
He does not believe reports of a serious split within the ruling team: “President Poroshenko and Prime Minister Yatsenyuk - this couple is inseparable. Everything is divided, everything is agreed upon, including financial flows and positions of regional governors. They are in the same boat. And if they drown, then together. But they can drown. For several months now, there has been talk in Kyiv about a new, third Maidan. People see everything - you can’t deceive them.”
Dmitry looks around the hall of the Kyiv restaurant, where there is no one except him and the correspondents of the Russian publication, and sighs: “But there is no one to overthrow this government yet. It’s not housewives who will do this, not pensioners. And all the fighters are at the front.” Ponamarchuk pauses and adds: “But someday they will return.”
