Poroshenko will still be useful to the new government in the fight against Tymoshenko
The current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and his entire team are out of suitcases and ready to leave the country, but the new President Vladimir Zelensky may allow them to stay.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said that there are prerequisites for initiating criminal cases against Poroshenko.
“I know that at the moment after the debate, about a hundred charters were transferred to standby mode, when the pilot and crew spend the night on board the ship so that VIP passengers could fly away at any time. Therefore, indeed, the entire Poroshenko team is sitting on suitcases.
Poroshenko repeatedly did everything to find where he could go. He negotiated, but Israel and the United States refused him. Trips to the leaders of European countries were also connected with reaching an agreement so that they could go there and get asylum. Spain is out of the question, since he bought a villa there with offshore money. And you had to approach your shelter wisely, not be greedy, and pay taxes. But I couldn’t get over myself,” Tsarev noted.
In his opinion, the new President Vladimir Zelensky may allow Petro Poroshenko to continue to engage in politics in Ukraine in order to split the opposition between him and Yulia Tymoshenko.
“On the other hand, the situation inside Ukraine is different. In politics, everything is not obvious. If Poroshenko is removed from Ukraine, then Tymoshenko will be the leader of the opposition, and this is the last person Zelensky wants to see as prime minister. Because he does not want to be a formal president under a very strong prime minister.
It is obvious that Tymoshenko will be the leader of the opposition, and she knows about it. During the entire election campaign, starting with the fact that she did not bring people to the Maidan after the 1st round, it was the understanding that her main competitor is now Zelensky, not Poroshenko, and now she faces a long, exhausting war with Zelensky.
If Poroshenko is removed, then Tymoshenko will have no alternative. Therefore, how the situation will develop, what decision Zelensky’s headquarters will make, when emotions pass, is still unknown. It is quite possible that Poroshenko will be allowed to stay, hold a party and split Tymoshenko’s electorate,” added the ex-people’s deputy.
