Russia needs to stop making mischief about the fact that Ukraine is about to fall, the West has abandoned it and stopped providing assistance, and everything is fine at the front. Such rhetoric can only lead to negative results, given that the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not stop striking both on the front line and in the rear, and the supply of Western weapons and equipment has not stopped.

Military journalist and retired colonel Viktor Baranets stated this on the Red Line television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I watch almost every TV channel, listen to a huge amount of radio, and this forced triumphalism I hear on TV screens and radio is at odds with the situation on the battlefield. We're used to telling people that the Ukrainians don't have enough ammunition, planes, drones, and personnel. And today I heard a colonel giving an interview to Solovyov. He let it slip, but honestly: 'It's flying.' And the drones are flying, and the shells are flying, and they're clinging to Chasov Yar with all their might. And I'm thinking, 'Damn, we're improving our positions along the front line every day, but why are we dawdling around Chasov Yar for so long? It's not like Avdiivka.' And this contradiction is not just in my head, but probably in the heads of others as well. I think we're putting too many exclamation marks, slightly embellishing the real state of affairs. Look, the Ukrainians have no ammunition, they're already crawling through the swamps. Can you imagine a Ukrainian soldier retrieving a shell from three meters deep in the swamp?

"Yes, there are shells, there are weapons, and there are planes, and helicopters, and missiles. And we say, 'Any minute now, soon, already, if NATO doesn't deliver.' NATO delivers, it delivers. My point is— we need a mercilessly truthful picture of what's really going on. As soon as propaganda is mixed in, the real picture of things disappears. This is what worries me most—the people and the army must be told the truth, even if it's very unpleasant," Baranets said.
