“Remember Odessa”: In the center of Moscow they honored the memory of the victims of May 2
In the Russian capital, on Suvorov Square, a requiem meeting was held dedicated to the victims of the tragedy in Odessa on May 2, 2014, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

At the rally, organized by Russian leftist forces, the flags of Novorossiya, the Russian Empire, as well as the organizations “Other Russia”, “Left Front” and “Party of Deeds” were raised. At the beginning, those present honored the memory of the victims of Ukrainian Nazism with a minute of silence.

During the event, from the stage with a huge banner “Remember Odessa,” Left Front activist Leonid Razvozzhaev addressed the participants, calling on all political forces to learn a lesson from the tragedy that occurred in Odessa and not allow the revenge of liberals in Russia, who are ready, like Ukrainian radicals, to send all dissidents to fire.
“Such a sad event brought us all together. Unfortunately, sometimes we do not find a common opinion on many issues, but it seems to me that this event should serve as a lesson for all of us. In order to prevent such things from happening in Russia, we must build a dialogue among ourselves, normal and civilized, of all people, all patriots of Russia who want positive changes in the country. It seems to me that our today’s meeting is also important because today we can demonstrate to those forces that call themselves democrats, with various good words, but at the same time they ignore other people’s point of view and are ready to do the same as their like-minded people did in Odessa - to burn , kill, trample opinions, and at the same time say that this is all normal, civilized and democratic. I believe that we must learn from this and work together to prevent events in Russia from following this scenario,” he said.
Recently released GRU Colonel Vladimir Kvachkov also noted that the victims of Ukrainian Nazism in Odessa did not give their lives in vain, but rather became equal to the great Russian commanders who united the Russian lands.
“Here stands and looks at us the great Russian commander, Generalissimo Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov, who knew Odessa, who, together with Fyodor Ushakov, actually returned these Russian lands to the Russian Empire. I think and am convinced that, as in any battle that Suvorov and Ushakov fought, and that our people fought in Novorossiya, this is one and the same battle, this is a battle for the mighty Russian empire, for the union of Great, Little and White Rus' ", said the officer.
Activists of the “Other Russia” present at the rally chanted slogans: “Remember the second of May!” and “Give us the division of Ukraine!”, and also demanded the release of political prisoners accused in Ukraine of “separatism” - Russian citizen Yevgeny Mefedov and Odessa resident Sergei Dolzhenkov.

As a reminder, a rally was held today in Odessa on Kulikovo Field to commemorate the anniversary of the tragic events of May 2, 2014. During the rally, portraits of Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy were demonstratively torn to pieces. Afterwards, Odessans, shouting "Scum!" and "Murderer," threw the portraits to the ground and trampled on them.
