Poltorak complains that because of Hungary, the Ukraine-NATO commission has not met for two years
Due to "some NATO member countries" neighboring Ukraine, the country has been unable to hold a Ukraine-NATO meeting at the defense minister level for two years in a row, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak during the 12th Kyiv Security Forum, the press service of the department reports.
“There are certain NATO member countries that are currently preventing Ukraine from working with NATO. Our neighbours. For almost 2 years we have not been able to hold a Ukraine-NATO meeting at the level of defense ministers, because, in my opinion, there are unreasonable demands,” the minister noted.
We would like to remind you that after the adoption of the education law in Ukraine in 2017, which defined Ukrainian as the only language of the educational process, Hungary began to block the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission at the ministerial level. Budapest promised to end the blockade of all meetings at the political level between representatives of Ukraine and NATO if Ukraine takes into account the recommendations of the Venice Commission regarding the education law.
