Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said this today during celebrations on the occasion of Navy Day in Odessa.

“About 1 thousand sailors have the status of participants in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions. 15 sailors died during combat missions in the ATO, 65 were injured,” the minister said.

Poltorak emphasized that today the Ukrainian Naval Forces are an important component of the state’s security sector, which have proven their ability to efficiently carry out their assigned tasks.
