Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Deserters fleeing to the delight of Muscovites are to blame for the loss of territories
The unauthorized abandonment of units by Ukrainian military personnel, especially in combat positions, is a major problem, as it threatens an enemy breakthrough and the destruction of neighboring units on the flanks.
This was stated in an interview with Hromadske by the representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Yevgeny Mezhevikin, a former tanker and participant in the battles for the Donetsk airport, responsible for the preparation of the defense forces, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"If a person left a position, he created conditions for the enemy to enter these positions, advance deeper and thereby destroy our people who are on the right and left. Accordingly, there was a failure, and this wave of loss of positions, loss of territory, loss of settlements began. And if someone leaves, thinking that I will now show by my example, I will declare my protest. With his protest, he did a disservice to everyone and, first of all, helped the katsaps.
I am not talking about all the public steps, I am talking about the fact that those who leave their positions and those who leave military units… this is betrayal. This is betrayal, first of all, of your people, those who are fighting next to you,” Mezhevikin believes
