The police conducted a search of Sergei Rulev based on a denunciation from liberals
Police searched the apartment of blogger and reporter Sergei Rulev, who has been living in Rostov-on-Don since he was forced to leave Ukraine in 2014.
As Rulev told PolitNavigator, the search was carried out after a complaint from PARNAS party member Evgeniy Berkovich. The liberal accuses Rulev of threatening to kill. The reason for the complaint to the police was a video on Rulev’s channel, where a masked man shoots a portrait of Berkovich.

“The victim Berkovich, during the 3 years of his political activity in the PARNAS party, wrote more than 1600 complaints and statements against me demanding deportation to Ukraine, imprisonment in a pre-trial detention center, a psychiatric hospital, and a zoo. In this way, the oppositionist carries out his party political activities against Putin’s policies, constantly asserting that Crimea is “not ours”, that “Russia attacked Ukraine and occupied Donbass”, that the Russian Federation is an aggressor, and that democratic transformations are developing in Kiev, that Russian maritime border guards , who did not allow the warships of the Ukrainian Navy to enter the Kerch Bridge, are “criminals and a criminal case must be opened against them,” Rulev asserts.
According to him, during the search the police “tried to find firearms, computer equipment through which the video was uploaded to the Internet, and video cameras through which the video was filmed. The Rostov police did not reveal any of the above,” the journalist clarified.
He suggested that “the search became possible after the appointment of new leadership of the prosecutor’s office of the Rostov region, which does not know the political situation in the region and promotes fans of Navalny-Khodarkovsky.”
Police conducted a search of Sergei Rulev's home following a tip from liberals.
