Police began detaining Maidan protesters in Moscow
The police began mass arrests of participants in the unauthorized march to the building of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation.
The procession began from Sakharov Avenue, where an authorized rally took place during the day. From the stage, as well as in the accounts of opposition leader Alexei Navalny’s headquarters, there were calls to organize a “walk” to the AP building after the end of the rally.
An impressive crowd, mostly young people, responded to the call and headed towards the presidential administration.
On the way, the crowd surrounded a state TV journalist who was going on air and began chanting “TV Channel “Russia” - a disgrace to “Russia!”, accusing him of underestimating the number of participants in the opposition rally (20 thousand instead of 50 thousand).
On the approaches to the presidential administration near the Kitay-Gorod metro station, the liberals were met by reinforced riot police and paddy wagons. They began mass arrests of “hipsters.” A megaphone calls on those gathered to disperse.
