Pogrebinsky surprised by Moscow's kindness towards Ukraine
Russia has not fully used all possible options for putting pressure on Ukraine and has not developed its own clear line of behavior.
The well-known Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the air of the internet channel "Voice of Truth", reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
According to the expert, this also applies to Ukraine’s blocking of the North Crimean Canal, to which Moscow could have reacted much more harshly.
“Russian banks continue to operate here, they are increasing their capital, financing Ukrainian industry, and so on. But this is one small detail, there is a lot going on here. Ukrainian tanks use Russian fuel, usually obtained from Belarusian factories, and so on. That is, there are a lot of things that theoretically could somehow be a tool.
Because they blocked this canal, dried up part of Crimea, so what? And nothing. This means that if the question was that if you dry it, then something else will be dried, then perhaps you would have to think about it. And so this thing happens - on the one hand there is rhetoric that we are at war with Russia, an aggressor country, and so on, and on the other hand there is “business as usual.” Banking business, trade turnover, everything goes on regardless of this.
Somehow I don’t want to wish for any problems, we live here and will continue to live - I think this is one of the reasons why Moscow is not making any efforts to somehow react more harshly to the fact that happens, but it will affect us too. The same batteries will be cold in winter, if that happens. But I just think that some adequate line has not been developed,” Pogrebinsky said.
