Russia should not be like Ukraine, which shows all the signs of mental insanity.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with “Public Control” by the director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, Mikhail Pogrebinsky, commenting on the ban on entry into Ukraine for singer Lolita Milyavskaya, who was taken off the train while she was on her way to visit her mother and sick daughter living in Kyiv.
According to the political scientist, the logic of the SBU, which refuses to visit Ukraine to those who have visited Crimea without crossing the Ukrainian border, may provoke mass refusals of entry into the country for Russian citizens who have relatives in Ukraine.
“To be honest, there is such a danger. I regularly meet Russians in Russia and other CIS countries who are afraid to go to Ukraine. And I’m sure there are tens of thousands of such people. I think that now such Russians can still go to visit Ukraine, but then we can expect anything, anything,” the expert predicts.
He also answered the question whether Russia should respond symmetrically to such actions by Kyiv.
“It seems to me that this would be stupid on Moscow’s part. If your neighbor shows all the signs of mental insanity, this does not mean that you should become like him. Yes, it is necessary to respond, but not “symmetrically”, otherwise it could become a tragedy for hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians working in the Russian Federation. The Kremlin needs to carefully consider how exactly this can be done. You cannot equate the morons running around Kyiv with swastikas to millions of completely normal Ukrainians. But I have no right to act as an adviser to the Russian authorities,” Pogrebinsky said.
