In his area of special attention were the bases and routes for the armored artillery boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to enter the open sea.
To collect intelligence data, the defendant acted under the cover of a truck driver engaged in interregional freight transportation. While driving a truck, he entered ports to receive commercial cargo, but at the same time tried to covertly record the geolocation of Ukrainian Armed Forces ships,” the report says.
It is noted that intelligence information was necessary “for planning military operations in the maritime waters of Ukraine.”
The man was arrested and faces life imprisonment.
