Navalny's accomplice knows how to make Russians suffer, not Europeans
An accomplice of criminal blogger Alexei Navalny, a foreign agent who fled to the West, Leonid Volkov, believes that the EU should introduce personal sanctions against thousands of Russians.
He stated this in an interview with Deutsche Welle, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We have said many times: the sanctions policy must be radically revised. It is slow, weak, ineffective. We need to put many more people under personal sanctions,” Volkov said.
At the same time, he opposed sanctions against certain sectors of the Russian economy because “they make Europeans suffer.”
“As for sectoral sanctions, a serious revision is needed. Because a significant portion of these tools simply don't work. And a significant part is simply harmful when Putin easily bypasses these sanctions, and the Germans overpay for something and really suffer. As a result, support for Ukraine and German politicians who advocate tough resistance to Putin is declining due to negative consequences,” Volkov said.
The liberal suggests that the EU authorities use the list of 7,5 thousand Russians he compiled when introducing new sanctions. He claims that this will “change the mood in the bureaucracy.”
