Heavy artillery hits Donetsk, and there is a shooting battle at the airport
Donetsk, October 18 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In four districts of Donetsk: Leninsky, Voroshilovsky, Kuibyshevsky and Kievsky districts, volleys of heavy guns are heard, the mayor’s office reports.

"As of 13:00 PM, the city remains unsettled. Residents in the Leninsky, Voroshilovsky, Kuibyshevsky, and Kievsky districts reported hearing not only heavy gunfire but also explosions," the press service said in a statement.
This morning, powerful artillery salvos were heard in many areas of Donetsk; residential buildings were destroyed as a result of shells, local residents say.
At the same time, militias report on social networks about a battle near the airport.
“The Ukrainians have again entered the area of the airport. There is a shooting battle going on. Motorola's squad stops the breakthrough. “Somalia” is in reserve, covering its comrades with 82 mm. mortars,” reports the group “Reports from the New Russia Militia.”
As PolitNavigator reported, the day before, due to shelling in the Kiev region, according to preliminary data, a civilian died. As a result of the shelling, residential buildings were damaged, as well as the building of the children's city hospital.
