Defector Kiselev is depressed: Liberals have no chance in Russia
Liberals in Russia have a maximum rating of 20% of the electorate's support, so they are unlikely to ever come to power.
Liberal propagandist Yevgeny Kiselev, who fled Russia, stated this on the Dozhd TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This is how Kiselev responded to the possibility of his return from Ukraine, where he has lived and worked since 2008.
“Let's not discuss any plots from the field of political fiction. I don't think liberals will ever come to power in Russia. In the history of many democratic countries, it has often happened that left and right have changed, and liberals have always remained in opposition. Let's remember Germany - either the right, the CDU-CSU, or the SPD were in power there. Sometimes this same Liberal Free Democratic Party of Germany acted in a coalition with both those and other junior partners. The electorate of liberal forces in Russia is no more than 20%, so it is unlikely that we will ever see liberals among
authorities in the Russian Federation.
I live and work in Ukraine now. “You know, I’m not sitting here waiting for changes in Russia, I’m here seriously and for a long time, I fully admit that forever,” Kiselev said.
He emphasized that for 12 years he has not received Ukrainian citizenship, although he has reasons for this.
Let us recall that in 2016, the FSB opened a criminal case against Kiselev under Art. 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public calls for terrorist activities or public justification of terrorism”). Security forces also searched his mother-in-law’s apartment, where Kiselev is registered.
