Pashinyan demands not to compare the Armenian Maidan with other coups
The “revolution of love” in Armenia, which entailed a change of power, should not be compared with the “color” coups d’état that occurred in other former Soviet republics with the intervention of the West.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this on Deutsche Welle, emphasizing that there was no foreign interference in the events in Yerevan, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“For me, the parallels between our democratic revolution and other revolutions are unacceptable. Because many people want to present our revolution among the so-called “color” revolutions, but this is generally unacceptable. There was no geopolitical context at all in our revolution, there was no foreign force that would participate and be involved in our internal political process. This is very important to understand what is happening in our republic, in our country. I understand that it is very easy to group conflicts and processes, but we must be very attentive to the nuances and differences,” Pashinyan said.
