Parubiy and Poroshenko will not be able to sign the law on total Ukrainization
Vadym Novinsky, head of the Opposition Bloc parliamentary faction, and his deputy, Oleksandr Vilkul, have registered a draft resolution in the Verkhovna Rada proposing to overturn parliament's decision to adopt the bill (No. 5670-d) on the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"I submitted a draft resolution to the Verkhovna Rada that blocks the signing of the language law! Therefore, neither Parliament Speaker Oleksandr Parubiy nor President Petro Poroshenko can sign this law. Consequently, this law cannot enter into force," Vilkul wrote on his Facebook page.

He noted that the draft resolution was submitted immediately after the language law was voted on in the session hall. “The question is whether Parubiy will violate the law by signing this law without considering our draft resolution,” added A. Vilkul.
In addition, according to information on the Verkhovna Rada website, on Thursday, a little more than an hour after the adoption of the law on the Ukrainian language, people’s deputies Yuriy Boyko and Yuliy Ioffe (both non-factional), as well as Vasily Nimchenko, Nestor Shufrych, Yuriy Miroshnichenko, Mikhail Papiev (all from the Opposition Bloc faction) also registered a draft resolution (No. 5670-d-1) to cancel the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the language law.
The texts of these draft resolutions are not yet available on the parliament website.
Registration of such an initiative blocks the opportunity for the speaker of parliament to sign the adopted law. He will be able to do this after the Verkhovna Rada considers the resolution on cancellation and if it rejects it.
