Tyagnibok’s party was convicted of illegally receiving 2 million hryvnia from the state budget

The Darnitsky District Court of Kiev opened administrative proceedings to bring to administrative responsibility the chief accountant of the political party "VO Svoboda" Yaroslav Peleshak, through whom funds were deposited into the bank account of a political force in violation of the law on the procedure for receiving contributions in support of a political party.

This was reported by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The NAPC Department for the Prevention of Political Corruption, based on the results of an analysis of the political party’s report on property, income, expenses and financial obligations for the fourth quarter of 2016, found that during November-December 2016, 11 payments totaling 2 million were made to the party’s bank account 330 thousand 900 UAH. All funds passed through the chief accountant of the party, Jaroslav Peleshak,” the statement says.

“It was also established that he received another 26 UAH of deposits from individuals through the party cash desk, which is confirmed by receipt orders. Thus, Yaroslav Peleshak violated the procedure established by the Law of Ukraine “On Political Parties in Ukraine” for receiving contributions in support of a political party,” the department added.

Due to the deposit of funds into the Svoboda account not directly by individuals, the court found violations by the party under Article 212-15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. According to the administrative code, an amount of 2 million 357 thousand hryvnia should be confiscated from the account of the political force.

The Darnytskyi court was unable to convene for the first hearing in the case due to the absence of Svoboda representatives, whom the court did not properly inform about the consideration of the case. The rescheduled meeting is scheduled for September 4.
