The namesake of the fugitive Ukrainian president, Zlata Yanukovych, was arrested in Belarus. She was identified in photographs of last year's Belomaidan.

The girl was photographed at one of the White Maidan protesters' "linkages," and the photo went viral on social media. More than a year later, fame has caught up with the woman in the photo, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the local nationalist publication Novoye Vremya (New Hour), Yanukovych is accused of violating Art. 342 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (“Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them”).

“Zlata is a third-year student at the Faculty of Chemistry of BSU. According to her classmates, she was taken away from her classes. Relatives still refuse to contact journalists. A “repentance video” of her appeared on pro-government telegram channels. It is still unknown what status Zlata Yanukovych is in,” the authors worry about the fate of the representative of the “onizhedet.”
