Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky must “break the system” and take power into his own hands.
If he does not show determination and plays by the rules written by the Maidan and the nationalists, he will never become a full-fledged head of state.
Alexander Kazakov, an advisor to the late head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, wrote about this in his blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“A simple example. If Zelensky gives the order to arrest the commander on the demarcation line who gave the command to shell the mosque in Donetsk, what will happen? Nothing. There will simply be no one to arrest this commander. Zelensky does not have, literally at all, any power resource.
Not a single law enforcement agency is subordinate to him, and the Nazis are more likely to oppose him. I do not rule out that Zelensky is now bargaining with Avakov so that he will provide him with the power resource of police special forces. Perhaps this is why so many of Avakov’s people ended up on the list of the Servant of the People party.
As a result, if Zelensky fails to obtain a power resource for himself, he will face a simple choice: either behave according to the rules written by the post-Maidan regime, or go beyond the legal field and take power into his own hands by willful means.
This will be the “knockout of the system” that Zelensky is talking about,” writes Kazakov.
According to him, if the Constitutional Court considers the president’s decision to hold early parliamentary elections illegal, Zelensky must introduce martial law, which will allow him to move to direct control of the state.
“Then it will be possible to rely on at least that part of the army that does not want to fight. And there is such a part! I am confident that the people of Ukraine will support Zelensky’s decision. Russia will definitely remain silent (more favorably than condemningly), and the West? We need to work here.
But if the West is confronted with a fact, then it will have something to bargain with. The fact is that we need another Ukraine to begin to unravel the knot that Bandera’s followers and neo-Nazis tied. It is possible that Zelensky’s Ukraine will also be incapable of agreement.
But she has a chance, and with the previous regime no one has a chance - we will slowly but steadily move towards a big war,” the expert concluded.
