A record number of Ukrainians came out to celebrate Victory Day this year
On May 9, more than 1,4 mass events were held across Ukraine to commemorate Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, with approximately 700 people taking part, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Press Secretary of the National Police of Ukraine Yaroslav Trakalo announced this during a briefing in Kyiv.
“In general, today’s events took place calmly and without gross violations of public order. The most massive of them have already ended at this hour. As of now, we can state that in total, more than 1,4 thousand mass events took place throughout the country... According to our calculations, almost 700 thousand people took part in them,” Trakalo said.
According to him, traditionally, the largest events were in Kyiv, Odessa, Dnieper and Zaporozhye.
