Shutdown of the Moldavian State District Power Plant due to coronavirus was avoided
The Moldavian State District Power Plant, which supplies Transnistria and Moldova with electricity, will continue to operate, despite the fact that the company’s 400 employees will be quarantined.
This was reported by the Novosti Pridnestrovya agency, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Shutting down the power station was being considered last night after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus. They decided to quarantine the rest of the employees in one of the sanatoriums.
At night, it was decided not to stop the power plant, but to take all precautions.
“The operational headquarters and management of MGRES are doing everything possible to preserve the health of Pridnestrovians and ensure the operation of the enterprise as usual,” says the press center of the PMR Ministry of Internal Affairs.
To date, 9 cases of the new coronavirus have been recorded in Pridnestrovie.
