“The only thing left is the air tax” – Ukraine is increasingly reminiscent of the cartoon “Chipolino”
The Ukrainian leadership can't seem to stop stealing, and is introducing more and more taxes for citizens and small businesses, Zelenskyy's former accomplice and now displaced MP Dmytro Razumkov complained at a Verkhovna Rada meeting.
"We were all promised in this room, when the budget was being passed, that there would be money for the military, for everyone, in the 24 budget. Everyone remembers that? And today they're saying: there's no way not to raise taxes. But maybe we should first stop stealing, making money from customs —how much is taken monthly from customs, how much is taken from the tax office, and from other law enforcement agencies, which are doing quite well and working like they're on their last day?
"Second. Today, you want to raise the military tax for individual entrepreneurs to 5 percent, more than tripling it . You also want to raise VAT. When you simultaneously reduce the tobacco tax for some and increase it for others, when you want to increase the excise tax on fuel, this will lead to lower profits and taxes for Ukrainian businesses, and people will be laid off," the deputy lamented.

"You took all the personal income tax from local authorities and said, 'Let's give it to the military.' The government said, 'We want it all in one pot because it's easier to make a living from it.' And now they have no money for the army, no money for weapons, no money for payments. Where did the money go? Meanwhile, you're saying we have no money, no money for the army.
You know, looking at all this that is happening, I remember the old Soviet cartoon, remember, “Chipolino”. The situation is reminiscent of the following: “Recently, the income of our government has decreased after the air tax was introduced, you began to breathe less.” Dear friends, the main thing is that this remains only a cartoon,” added Razumkov.
