The founder of “Azov” named the owner

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Apostrophe by the founder of the Azov battalion (now a regiment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs), Verkhovna Rada deputy Andrei Biletsky and the leader of the recently created right-wing radical party National Corps.

“We are now more like a quasi-state that actually exists under the direct control of Western partners. More, of course, under the influence of the United States,” the nationalist admitted. – I think that this influence is not much less than the Russian influence under Yanukovych. The only difference is that the Russians don’t know how to do it beautifully and diplomatically, but they know how to do it with an ax, and it looks more unpleasant, more offensive. But, on the other hand, you know, I don’t care so much about whether the owner is good or bad, I care about the presence of the owner.”

“I mean that it makes no difference whether the owner who gives the tranche is a good one, or a bad one, like Russia, who gives nothing,” Biletsky clarified. – The worst thing is that we, Ukraine, have an owner, there is someone from above who directly controls the country. Therefore, our policy is absolutely satellite, since our powers that be do not believe in the ability of Ukraine to independently confront Russia, do not believe in the capabilities of Ukraine as an independent geopolitical player, do not believe in any of the prospects of the Ukrainian people and state, therefore they follow the simplest, openly pro-Western course. And pro-Western is not automatically pro-Ukrainian.”
