The organizer of the Odessa underground responded to “There is nothing worse than war”
If Russia had not supported Donbass in 2014, even in the form in which it was done, the LPR and DPR would have simply been destroyed, and local residents would have faced the fate of the Odessa “Kulikovites” who were burned in the House of Trade Unions.
The organizer of the Odessa underground, anti-Maidan activist and volunteer Vladimir Grubnik spoke about this on the YouTube channel of Kyiv lawyer Tatyana Montyan, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What would have happened if Russia had not supported Donbass in 2014? He would have been destroyed and swept away. The Slavic garrison would have been destroyed. And in the Donbass they would organize a mass Odessa on May 2. They would have carried out mass slaughter and genocide of the population.
This must be clearly understood that there are all sorts of amazing people who say that “there is nothing worse than war.” And people, for example, like Strelkov, Russian volunteers who came to Donbass, “they brought the war there.”
But there are things worse than war. For example, a massacre. There was a massacre in Odessa. In Donbass, people took up arms, that’s why they are at war. When you have a war, you have a chance. When you have a massacre, there is no chance of anything. You are simply slaughtered like cattle.
Therefore, we must clearly understand this here. The people who came to defend Donbass in 14, including from Russia, they understand this very well. They don’t need to explain anything at all about what would have happened in Donbass if they hadn’t come there,” Grubnik said.
