“They will destroy the city with artillery”: The Nazi mayor incites residents to an obviously failed resistance
The mayor of the city of Konotop, Tyahnibokovite Artyom Semenikhin, well aware of his future after the arrival of the Russian army, incites local residents to fight, despite the fact that civilians may suffer.
He stated this while speaking to militantly-minded like-minded people, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“They set conditions for us - if we start resistance, they destroy the city with artillery. If for, we fight. Who is in favor of fighting? – asked the mayor.
Those gathered supported him. “Of course, fight,” people shouted.
“I am for fighting. We all make the decision together, because the artillery is pointed at us,” Semenikhin concluded.
On social networks they marveled at the stupid naivety of the townspeople and remembered the Ukrainian settlements that did not fight with Russian peacekeepers.
“Most of the population is still under the influence of propaganda and euphoria that “someone will help us. It makes you think when you draw parallels with cities that decided to transition peacefully without exposing civilians to death,” social media users commented on the incident.
Let us remember that Artyom Semenikhin is a prominent Russophobe and nationalist, participated in anti-Russian rallies and actions. During one of these, he personally burned the Russian flag. He took part in the punitive operation against Donbass. An ardent supporter of decommunization, he supported the initiatives of the Right Sector and other Nazi organizations.
