“He didn’t do it on purpose” - a special forces colonel on Lukashenko’s decision to withdraw troops from Ukraine
The withdrawal of Belarusian troops from the border freed up to 60 Ukrainian Armed Forces battalion tactical groups , which dispersed to problematic areas of the front and also took part in the attack on the Kursk region. This was stated by retired Russian special forces colonel and military expert Anatoly Matviychuk on the "SR – For Truth" party channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter noted that during the attack on the Kursk region, Ukraine used forces transferred from the Belarusian border just after Lukashenko announced that there would be no attack from Belarus on the border.
“ Do you think this has strengthened the Ukrainian Armed Forces ?” the journalist asked.
" I'm far from thinking that Alexander Grigoryevich had anything to do with this, but yes, of course, it strengthened the situation. It freed up the reserves that Ukraine had been amassing on the Belarusian border. We, by the way, monitored these reserves; there were no less than 50-60 battalion tactical groups there. Some of them went to the fronts that are currently bursting at the seams —Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia—but some of them, as we see today, are participating in the invasion of the Kursk region ," Matviychuk replied.
