One of the contenders for Poroshenko’s seat began to “merge” without waiting for the elections
The former Minister of Defense of Ukraine and potential presidential candidate in 2019, Anatoly Gritsenko, did not rule out that he would withdraw his candidacy in favor of a more rated candidate, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When announcing my intention to run for president, I said that I was ready to support a candidate with a higher rating. This decision was made by me and our team,” he said at a press conference on Monday at the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
The politician also called on other potential presidential candidates to unite.
“We invite Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, Andrei Sadovoy, Roman Bessmertny, Nikolai Katerynchuk, Nikolai Tomenko, “Power of People” and others who share common values to join forces and go to the polls in order not just to participate, but to win,” - said Gritsenko.
