In order to “scare” Russia, the Kyiv authorities should invite a US Navy warship to the Sea of Azov - the main thing is that its dimensions allow it to pass under the Crimean Bridge.
Local historian Alexander Velmozhko stated this on the air of the Odessa television channel "First City", reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
“I do not exclude the possibility that, for example, some American frigate may pay an official visit to Berdyansk or Mariupol at the invitation of the Ukrainian side... A frigate will pass under the Kerch Bridge, but a destroyer will not, because a modern American destroyer is the size of a heavy cruiser times of the Second World War,” he said, while arguing with the presenter about the size of the destroyer and frigate.
However, military expert Alexander Koltsun intervened in the conversation, according to whom, an ordinary pleasure boat flying the US flag would be enough for such an event.
“Even if it is an ordinary pleasure boat with one engine, if it comes under the American flag and stays there, it will be enough,” he said.
“An American pleasure boat could also run aground under the bridge,” Velmozhko remarked to his interlocutor, hinting at the blockade of the strait.
