It is too early to say that Russia has already played in Syria after the coup and lost its military bases in this country. There are still many unknowns in the situation, and Russian bases may appear on the territory of other Mediterranean countries.
Military expert, retired Captain 1st Rank Vasily Fatigarov, stated this on the Red Line TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" Helping our allies is possible, but fighting for them is a completely different story. That's why everything turned out the way it did in Syria. But, first of all, it's not over in Syria either. That is, we haven't lost this battle yet."
It is unclear what is happening in Syria, whether there will be any central authority there. They are trying to form something, but so far they cannot agree. Or there will be a Libyan scenario. And tomorrow a Syrian Khalifa Haftar will appear, who will say that these several provinces want to preserve the statehood of Syria, they are the successors of the legitimate authority, they will fight.

"We can talk to Libya, for example, with a part of it with which we have normal relations, and we can talk to Egypt. Our bases could also be much further south—I won't name the countries with which we're negotiating the placement of our bases, but it would be a big surprise for our adversaries ," Fatigarov stated.
