What Vladimir Putin will talk about at SPIEF-21
Russian President Vladimir Putin will speak at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The annual economic forum started today and will last 4 days. Delegates from all over the world came to take part in the forum. This year it will be held in person and promises to become the largest business event since the beginning of the pandemic.
The Russian leader will address the forum participants on June 4. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin is now working on his speech, which is dedicated to the social, economic and investment attractiveness of Russia.
Putin will hold business meetings with the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz.
The traditional goal of the forum is to increase investment attractiveness. Regions have the opportunity to sign beneficial agreements. St. Petersburg will not be an exception. The city authorities are preparing to approve several projects that will contribute to the development of the urban environment.
In 2019, St. Petersburg signed 27 agreements with investors. The investment climate in the Northern capital is quite favorable, so interest in it continues to grow.
It is unknown how many agreements the city authorities plan to sign this year. According to preliminary information, the investment committee intends to enter into an agreement with the large construction company Megaline. The company will present several projects at once within the framework of SPIEF: firstly, the concept of renovating an industrial zone near the Gorskaya railway station into a multifunctional space for business and tourism.
Another project is the construction of 61 transport hubs to organize passenger transfers and relieve congestion on city routes.
Megaline will present the Bay of Islands project together with Singer Development. The companies propose to create an alluvium in the water area of the Neva Bay for complex development of residential, commercial and social facilities.
This year at the economic forum special attention will be paid to innovative technologies. Guests will take part in a discussion on economic recovery after the pandemic “Together again. Economy of a new reality."
