At the current pace, it will take a hundred years for Ukraine to reach the level of Poland
Continuing to make shameful concessions to the IMF, Ukraine will remain in last place among European countries.
People's Deputy from Oleg Lyashko's Radical Party Viktor Galasyuk stated this during today's meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"The new IMF report contains absolutely disgraceful information for Ukraine . We rank last in Europe for prosperity. We have the lowest income and wage levels. This is unacceptable for a country in the center of Europe that is extremely rich in human capital and natural resources!
The World Bank says that Ukraine needs a hundred years to catch up with Poland, if it grows at the current economic pace,” Galasyuk said.
“The authorities again and again make concessions to the IMF and dance to their tune. The results of this policy are evident in the IMF report itself. This is a failed economic policy that makes Ukrainians poor, Ukraine dependent and pushes citizens out of the country as forced laborers,” he added.
“The budget introduced by the government does not solve the main problems - neither economic development nor social protection,” summed up Lyashko’s ally.
As PolitNavigator reported earlier, a Kyiv expert compared cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF to the process of extinguishing a fire with gasoline.
At the current rate, Ukraine will take a hundred years to reach Poland's level.
