In Ukraine, there is a new large-scale fire in the Chernobyl zone. The night before, a fire broke out in dry grass in the floodplain of the Vuzh River, and the fire eventually engulfed an area of ​​approximately 130 hectares.

In May, the director of the Regional Eastern European Fire Monitoring Center, head of the forest pyrology laboratory, Sergei Zibtsev, said that Ukraine’s neighboring countries were recording radiation after the fire in the Chernobyl zone.

“I received calls from Norway, Denmark, the USA, England, France... The French are now tracking radioactive aerosols that rose as a result of the fire,” Zibtsev said at a press conference.
