“New stage of war”: Russia will use Syrian tactics in the Kherson region - Karasev
The removal of civilians from the territory of the Kherson region may be evidence of a change in tactics by the Russian army. In particular, the Syrian scenario will be repeated, when the main combat operations are carried out by the Aerospace Forces, carrying out bombings.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Israeli Internet channel Iton TV, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This is a new stage of the war, connected both with mobilization and with the fact that the war is being transferred more from ground forms to air, aviation forms. This is due to the new commander of the special military operation, the so-called Army General Surovikin, who is a general military officer and motorized rifleman by training, but has long been the commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces since the Syrian campaign of 15-16. This is the Syrian scenario to some extent.
I would not say that it is literal, in the modus of the Syrian campaign, but there is a certain modality. What was the Syrian campaign? The Russian army almost never carried out ground operations, they were carried out by Iranian mercenaries, or the IRGC, or some regular armies, units or groups of the Iranian army, plus the Syrian army, plus PMCs, the Wagnerites. And the Russian Armed Forces are mainly airstrikes. Including Aleppo, we know this story.
I do not rule out that there were messages to the civilian population to leave Kherson and the adjacent territory to Kherson in the Kherson region. I know what it is for, I can guess and I can draw a certain conclusion. In order to simply engage in aerial bombing in the event of a successful breakthrough of the Ukrainian armed forces to Kherson, as was the case, for example, in Syria,” Karasev reasoned.
