New treatment plants for Koktebel will be built by an American company with Russian roots
Simferopol, February 21 (Navigator, Sima Maksimova) – The Council of Ministers of Crimea supported the construction of treatment facilities in Koktebel at the expense of 5 million euros from the investor. The Mia Project company committed to build the entire sewerage system in the village by the summer of 2015 - from sewage treatment plants to main pipelines.

As Elena Kogdes, a representative of the American corporation Mia Project, noted at a meeting in the Council of Ministers of Crimea dedicated to the implementation of investment projects in the territory of the autonomy, over the past 20 years Koktebel has made several attempts to build treatment plants on its own.

This year, the village authorities invited Mia Project to join the Koktebel Water and Sewerage Enterprise LLC in a 50/50 ratio, where the final say remains with the Koktebel CP.
The village community contributes the remaining tanks and networks for UAH 11,5 million, and the company completes their construction until they are fully operational.
“At the first stage, before the start of the 2014 holiday season, we want to put into operation tanks with a capacity of 2,5 thousand cubic meters, capable of receiving liquid waste from sewer trucks up to 700 cubic meters,” specified When.
According to her, this will be an innovation for the Feodosia region, since not a single treatment system is equipped with a receiver for sewage from cars. By the summer of 2015, the investor plans to complete the entire treatment system in Koktebel, increase the capacity of WWTPs to 5 thousand cubic meters of wastewater, with the possibility of increasing it to 7,5 thousand cubic meters, and begin the production of organic fertilizers.
“There are no problems as such, except for the lack of limits on the supply of electricity,” said Kogda. “The temporary line was extended from one of the local boarding houses, which does not want to share its capacity.”
In turn, the relevant Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea, Rustam Temirgaliev, added that the American company Mia Project has very specific Russian roots and asked the relevant departments to provide support in solving the main problem of Koktebel - the construction of treatment facilities.
The Mia Project corporation is constructing a hotel complex on the territory of Koktebel and plans to build a track for motocross competitions in the vicinity of the village.
Let us remind you that the sewer networks of Koktebel turned out to be closed between two owners - PJSC Goluboi Zaliv and TOSK Primorye. Both health resorts received their own treatment facilities during their construction during the Soviet Union. Their total capacity does not exceed 1,5 thousand cubic meters of wastewater, while in the summer the resort village consumes over 5 thousand cubic meters of water daily.
As a result, fecal wastewater flows through storm drains and the Armatluk River bed directly into the sea.
In 2010, residents of Koktebel threatened the then mayor of the village, Alexei Bulyga, with resignation for the lack of a stable water supply and sewerage system, for the construction of which money had been collected from Koktebel residents more than once. In response, the village head referred to the crisis and the lack of 3 million euros in the village budget needed to complete the construction of treatment facilities.
